A Merry Little Price Christmas!

This year we had our own little Iowa Christmas. It was nice and fun to start our own traditions even though we did miss our families this year. We started off with a big Christmas Eve dinner which I so proudly made. It was yummy. I dressed the boys in matching PJ's and they looked pretty darn cute. Trey threw a fit pretty much all through dinner which was frustrating but we worked through it. Since I cooked Chris cleaned up the entire kitchen...I know I have the best hubby! We were going to open our Christmas Eve PJ's but it was getting late and both boys were way over tired so we just decided to wait until Christmas day. We kept trying to explain Santa was coming to Trey but I don't feel he really understood yet. It was really fun for Chris and I to wrap the boys presents together and set them out, we really felt sneaky! We had to put our tree downstairs because Trey kept pulling it down which made it easier to make it a surprise.
Christmas morning was hectic I was going to make a famous Christmas Breakfast but it did really work out with Porters feeding time and everything so I just made so malto meal with a whole bunch of toppings to go with it. I cooked while Chris occupied the boys with Christmas cartoons...I swear he was more into it then they were, LOL! We read a little part of the Christmas story and then headed down stairs to open presents. Trey's face was cute when he saw everything but I felt he was more interested in the balls on the tree than anything. Once we started opening his toys he got more into it. Chris got me some cute clothes and I got him some work out stuff, we really did not do anything big for each other because we just wanted to make it special for Trey. Trey got spoiled of course but his favorite was Buz and Woody or so we thought!! When we helped him open them he was so excited but he insisted that he hold them both and they were just too big for his little hands so he threw a huge temper tantrum...its so quite funny actually. We decided to take them back and get him a basketball hoop and try the big Buz and Woody another year because he already has the smaller ones that he got for his birthday. Porter pretty much wanted to zonk out half way through the present opening so we just opened his presents. He got some cute hats and out fits and a Christmas ornament like his brother. Our Christmas Eve PJ's this year was Matching Chicago Bears ones which were AWESOME and Chris was super excited about the Hester Jersey I got him. The rest of the day we just relaxed and enjoyed our boys. We had a cute and simple Christmas and it seriously does not get better than just being with your family!
HO HO HO, Hope everyone got all they wanted and more for Christmas this year!

A little something to make you..

!SMILE!
Porters first smile was when he was about 4 1/2 weeks old. He is such a cheese ball, I love this little man. Treyson smiled early too, I think its because they have a crazy Mom that smiles and talks baby talk to them all day...LOL! Chris can make Porter smile better than me though, I am jealous..he he! Why is it that a toothless gummy smile makes you get the butterflies in your tummy? Words can hardly express the joy it brings when your child first smiles at you. I wonder what he is thinking....is she crazy?, I love you, or thanks for the milk! Who knows, but I sure do look forward to those cheesy smiles everyday.

.Brothers.

The boys are doing great Porter slept from 8-4 the other night and the next night from 7-2...whaooo! I'm so silly because even when he sleeps long hours I always get up to check on him, maybe its because Trey never slept that good until he was 9 months old! Port has his fussy time in the late evening which is sometimes hard but other than that he is pretty good. Trey is a feisty ambitious toddler who still does not know what he thinks about his brother Porter. He thinks ever thing that is Porter belongs to him even when he is too big for it. He even tries to get in his car seat..LOL! I try to involve Trey in the activities with Porter but he really could care less. He ignores him most of the time but once in a while he will say hi to him or give him a kiss out of no where. I think Porter will out grow Treyson here soon...LOL, he is such a tank and so much bigger than Trey was. I hope Trey warms up to him more and they become best buddies.
These 2 boys are too precious for words, I look at them both and can't believe they are mine! The are both so adorable, I know I am the Mom and I would not think any less but still I love these to little dudes!
Trey seems like such a big boy compared to little Porter, I mean I know he is but Treyson was my baby until Porter cam you know? I look at Porter's little clothes and can't believe Trey was that small once, it's CRAZY! They do grow so fast and every stage is so different and that's why it's an adventure every time!
I ponder on what my boys will be like when they are older all the time, any other moms the same? Will they like the same things, will they love each other, what will make them sad, happy, scared? What activities will they enjoy? I pray that they will have the desire to serve a full time mission and love the Gospel as much as I do. It's kinda bitter-sweet yet scary at the same time to think of the them "older." I know one day there will no more blow outs, long nights of crying, toys scatted every where, spit up all over me, sippy cups in the cupboard, or being so tired you feel like your going to faint...ect! Maybe sometimes I murmur about all of that now but one day I know I will miss it and I will wish to be up all night with a baby again so I am enjoying my little ones and not rushing them to grow up even though I think about it. I honestly cry when I think about not hearing the pitter-patter of my children's feet running up and down the house, or hearing a newborn cry...its music to my ears! Oh how I love being a MOM, it has been the greatest challenge yet the greatest blessing in my life.

Some Shout Outs...

I have neglected to give a couple shout outs to some recent exciting happenings in the family. First, Cody and Camille had there baby boy Jaden in October. He is such a HAM! Our babies are about 6 weeks apart so it will be fun to have them grow up together. Congrats guys you made a handsome little dude!

Second, Casey and Kimber were married right before Thanksgiving in the Mesa Arizona Temple. We were unable to attend because of the age of Porter which was a bummer but we are truly excited for them and they make such a perfect stunning couple. Congratulations you two loved birds, we love you!

Third, My sister in law Ginger is expecting a baby boy at the end of March. They are going to name him William McKoy but just call him McKoy. Her kids will be about 16 months apart which is crazy but if anyone can do that she can. She is an awesome Mom. We are happy for them and can't wait to meet the new little guy. Hooray for BOYS!

Finally Fourth, My other sister in law Courtney is expecting as well. She is just in her early weeks and due sometime in July. The crazy thing was is that all 3 of us Price girls were pregnant at the same time, I was about to pop of course but still how cool is that!?! We are just good at the baby making I guess..LOL! We are thrilled for their family and can't wait to find out what they are having.

A BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF YOU!
XOXOXOXOXO
Lots of LOVES from the Price Family ;)

We have a 2 year old!

We had fun celebrating Treyson 2nd Birthday. We had a CARS Party for him and invited some of our close friends. It was crazy hectic but a good time to say the least. We did it in our "ghetto" basement because we knew it was going to get messy and it did, candy, cake, pop, pizza...everywhere! The cement floors made it so easy to clean up afterward. Trey was happy because his best friend Ryker came...at the beginning of the party Ryker cried for him Mom and so Trey started crying, it was so cute to see Chris comfort them both. We had a Pinata and and it was really cute to watch the kids hit it. We opened presents and Trey was excited about all his toys and played with them all night long. I was exhausted, who would of thought that a 2 year old birthday party could be so tiring.
Happy Birthday Treyson!
We made a new family tradition that we do not decorate for Christmas until after Trey's birthday to keep it special and separated from the holidays and then just leave them up longer. Trey loved the decorations too much and we figured out fast that we could not put a lot up. He has dumped the tree over a couple of times, taken everything off, broke decorations, and messed up the Nativity! HAHA, what would you expect from a 2 year old right? With nursing I can not get to him as fast as I need to so we just decided to have a "plain Christmas" so to speak! We were going to go home for the holidays this year but decided not to because we get a month off over the summer and thought it would be more fun then, besides we are not home sick yet. Also, because of the roads and how crazy everything has been, we prayed about it and feel its best for our little family this year.
Trey is growing up to fast! He is a cartoon junkie and his favorites are Toy Story, Cars, Horton hears a hoo, Kung fu Panda, Madagascar, Monsters Inc, and Chicken little. I have seriously memorized all of them! He can say little sentences like, "all done mama, watch a movie, I got you, love you, hey dude, what are you doing, how are you, where did mom/dad go, ooppsseys mama, poopy diaper"...lots of other ones but those are just a few. Trey also loves to play with hair, I know when he is tired because he will take his 2 index fingers through his hair. He is obsessed with my hair and any chance he gets he will grab a hold of it. He will come up behind me and just start twirling away, or when I holding him he always has to be holding my hair too. It gets annoying at times but I know one day he will not want to do it anymore so I just let "style away." There is not a day goes by that he does not make me laugh because of all his silliness. I love you buddy!
There are times when you get bitter sweet moments where he throws food everywhere and even though you are angry he looks so darn cute with food all over his face, or when you have asked him 10 times no to touch something and he ends up chucking it clear across the room and says, "oops sorry mommy." His apologies are funny and when he knows he has done something wrong he will just put his hands out for a hug and make the kissing noise to butter you up...LOL!
I know we are in the terrible twos because he throws a couple tantrums a day for me. It is really dramatic and the episode could last for about 5 minuets (it feels like an eternity) but we try and work through them or sometimes I just ignore him and he usually stops pretty quickly. I always try and get down and talk to him like a grown up at his level and explain things but kids will be kids and sometimes I just have to let him cry. I took a picture because I want to show his girlfriends when he older that he was not always such a "macho" man!! LOL!
We sure do love our spud though and are so thankful that he is apart of our family. Now it is on to getting rid of the Binky and potty training! Wish us luck because with this fella I think were going to need it!

!Porter Overload!

Wow, I can not believe Porter is 3 1/2 weeks old already. He is a good little baby, he has a very mild temperament and just a great little guy. We have had our bad nights but for the most part he is pretty awesome. He does not know how he feels about a swing or a bouncy seat yet, he would rather be held or just lay on a blanket on the floor to look around. As I said before he loves to eat and he already weight 10 1/2 pounds! He has already grown out of the newborn diapers and even some of his outfits...it kinda makes me sad but at the same time I can't wait for him to reach all his fun milestones. The doctor told us that he has a slight case of torticollis because of his shoulder dystocia when he was born which basically means that he prefers to turn his head only one way. We have been doing some stretching and using our magnetics and it has done wonders, we also are going to take him in to the Chiropractor to see if it can't fix the problem. We call him our little "Eskimo and our little Porker Porter!" Have you ever seen such a handsome little boy? I know I am bias but I seriously can't get enough of him, those chunky little cheeks make my heart melt.
We had his newborn pictures taken by my friend Erica and they turned out so good for being her very first newborn shoot. Thanks Erica! Both my boys do not believe in sleeping in pictures for some reason, they are always wide eyed and bushy tailed for the most part...haha!
I wanted to journal why and how we pick our sons name. First off my husband is very picky when it comes to boys names, they have to be masculine, no unisex names, and sound tough so he says! Porter has always been on our name list for boys and we knew that we were using Russel as the middle name no matter what.
Porter = After Porter Rockwell. He was seriously an amazing man in our Church. Chris has always admired him and thought of him as a great role model. I was having second thoughts about the name Porter and Chris told me to read his documentary and after I did I felt the spirit so strong that this is what our sons name should be.
Russel = After Chris Father of course that passed away over 20 years ago in a river rafting accident. His real name was William Russel Price but he went by "Russ." Chris Dad was the most Christlike person and just a good man. His testimony was strong and he loved the Gospel. Everyone that knew him never had a bad thing to say about him. We felt privileged to name our son after him and we pray that Porter will live up to name he has been given, we know that he will!
Porter Russel...the 2 names just go together PERFECTLY!
We love our new little addition even though at times it can be hard. Its such a blessing to be parents to him. God has trusted us with this special little spirit and for that I am truly grateful. I am so thankful to be apart of the Plan of Happiness that God has laid out for us. I love the Gospel and my little family.
