Better Late Than Never!

Christmas Letter 2008
We want to wish you and your families a Happy Holiday and hope it is full of love and laughter! What an eventful year it has been.  It has been full of so many adventurous blessings.  Learning how to be parents was probably top of the list, it was hard yet rewarding. Time really does fly and we have learned to cherish the moments.

Chris is busy with his nose in his Organic Chemisty book. Earlier this year he decided that the Chiropractic Field is where he wanted to go instead of Physical Therapy so that required just one more class to take which has been a tough one!  He has turned in his applications to Western States (Oregon), Parker (Texas), and Palmer (Iowa). He is more partial to Iowa but we will just have to see what happens. He is thinking seriously of joining the Military again to help pay for school.  He already has eight good years which means he would be in a very good position when he went in again.  He would only have to be in twelve more years and we would have a retirement from the Military.  We feel pretty strong about it but just have to look at all of our options.  He is also working on his personal training and stays busy at the gym.  This summer he will sell for AMP Alarm probably in Virginia which we are super excited about. He loves being a daddy and is a wonderful husband.

Kerri is staying busy being a stay at home mom and working her home business in Mary Kay.  She enjoys her Turbo Kick-Boxing and will probably start teaching a class next semester.  She is still doing every body's hair and loves it, she only wishes we had a mini salon she could tote around with her...haha!  She thinks being a wife and mother is so wonderful and looks forward to every tender moment with Treyson.

Treyson has gone from a newborn to a semi walking ambitious one year old.  He loves trucks, balls, and shovels.  He is definitely all boy!  He enjoys story time and playing patty cake and peek-a-boo.  He thinks its funny to pull everything out of drawers and loves to dance.  He learns something new everyday and keeps us laughing.  We are so grateful for him and the joy he brings into our lives.

We wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope 2009 is filled with lots of happiness!

Grandpa C. Wedding

What a lovely day! Grandpa Hal and Fran's wedding went really well. Grandma C. has only been gone for 11 months now but nonetheless we were really happy for him. Fran is awesome, she is spunky and just a fun person! We are really excited to get to know her better! The luncheon was heavenly! Mom C. and Tay opened us up with a great musical number then we all got to introduce ourselves to the "new family." It was great to see the 2 families coming together. Cody and Camille did an awesome duet together and then it was on to the cake cutting. Casey and Cody sang "face to face".... it could not have been a perfect ending to the gathering. Chris and I could not resist going to the Malt Shop and getting a shake after..YUM!
Congratulations Hal and Fran Christensen

We are really thrilled for them and know that this time on earth is precious, for we know that companionship and happiness is important in this life. They were not able to get married in the Temple for time but we all had the eternal perspective in our minds. We are ecstatic to be apart of a bigger family and just thought it was plain cool that we got to go to our "Grandpa's wedding." We know that Fran will take good care of Grandpa and keep him getting younger everyday..haha! We love you guys...Have fun in Mexico!

Christmas Jars

We love this book....We read it last year and we wanted to start a Christmas Jar tradition in our family but with a newborn and all the other things that come along with life we didn't do it. This year we read it again and it touched our hearts so much so we decided that were going to do it this year. You know there are so many things that our family WANTS for Christmas this year like a new TV, clothes, home decor, but do we really NEED it? We decided that we would take the money for the things we WANT and put it in a Christmas Jar and give it to a family that NEEDS it! When the Christmas Jar is given both families names are put on the jar along with the Christmas year. There is just one rule you have to follow, they have to keep the "Spirit of Christmas" going, next year they must find a family to give a "Christmas Jar" to! Then when they give it they will put their names and the family they give it to along with the year...... so you see it just keeps going and going and the TRUE meaning of Christmas will keep blessing families! The Christmas Jar is not about how much you give but how you give it! I feel our hearts have grown a little bigger this Christmas season as we have put other families needs before our own. We have felt the spirit of the Savior as he said, "If you have done it unto the least of these my brethren you have done it unto me." It is our prayer that everyone will take the time to think of what they need instead of what they want and help a family out along the way. Merry Merry Christmas Everyone!

1 year old!

As I look back over this past year my heart is full of joy. This little boy has brought so much happiness into our lives. There were times that were hard...very hard but nevertheless it was all worth it. My eyes begin to water as I think of this wonderful gift that God gave us...a son, a precious little spirit! There is really nothing greater than being a parent.
Just Born
1 month
3 months
6 months
9 months
12 months
When people say they grow so fast they are not kidding! I seriously cherish every moment because I know he will change everyday. I love being a Mom and have tons of "mommy moments" ......where I just hug him a little longer or watch him play with his toys or think of what he is going to be when he grows up! I adore my Treyson and I can't wait for more joys to come!

BOOT CAMP

Chris and I are at the gym everyday. Were health Nazi's and enjoy working out together. We decided that we wanted something a little different and challenging so we signed up for Boot Camp. With the Holidays just around the corner we felt that we needed the extra "ump" of Boot Camp. This is our second week of the three week program and we have enjoyed it so far. They push you hard and make you do things that you would not do in a normal work out which some times gets really interesting. Chris is the only guy in our session which makes it fun, he pretty much makes all of us look like wimps!!!!!!!
Chris has taught me so much about how important exercise is for your body especially weightlifting. Even though I dread getting up in the morning sometimes after I am done with my workout I am so glad I went and finished it. Since I married to a "hulk" who can't go one day with out the gym I have learned to love and appreciate the art of weightlifting and staying in shape. I would rather just do an aerobic class but I have seen over time how weightlifting has helped me to stay more fit. There is no such thing as a perfect body and I am not protesting that Chris and I have them, but I am saying that are bodies need exercise even if its for 20 min a day! As Chris and I say "Lets Sweat!" Have a good one guys!

Early Christmas Present

The Famous Vita-Mix!
Mom and Dad Cutler got us this and we didn't want to wait until Christmas to open it.
We have been wanting this since 2 Christmas's ago and they got a great deal at Sam's.
We absolutely love love love love it!!!!
This mixer can make appetizers, beverages, soups, sauces, spreads, fondues, salad dressing, syrups, batters, pureed foods, frozen desserts, grains...basically anything!
I have saved so much money with making things fresh and feel much better about cooking with this then out of a box or a can!

Thanksgiving Weekend Fun

What a BUSY weekend! We had so much fun. We did the double Thanksgiving with the Cutlers in Smithfield and the Price's in Fruit Heights. Our tummy's were definitely full of TURKEY and we were happy we got to see and visit with our families! Friday was the big shopping day which is never that fun on Black Friday. We got most of the Christmas shopping done which was awesome even though the lines were long. That night I cooked a big dinner. We had my famous spinach artichoke dip, apple bacon roast, cheesy chive potatoes, corn on the cob, and biscuits. For dessert we had my grandma's famous blueberry salad! I love the cook gourmet meals when ever I get the chance. After dinner we played "The Adams Family" and Mafia! Everyone enjoyed Trey of course he was the center of attention! It was a blast! Saturday I went to November Fest and got some cute things! The rest of the weekend was spent with Bill and Ginger. We had girl talk while the boys enjoyed football. Hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving.

On a second thought I want to write about one thing I am grateful for. I have been thinking a lot about the Gospel lately and how much I love it. It has shaped my life in to something spectacular. Everything has not been perfect but I have felt the love of the Savior surround me ever since the day I stepped into the waters of baptism. I am so thankful to have it in my life and sometimes I ask myself why me? Why do I get such a awesome blessing? I look around the world and see so many other people that need it more than me. I feel proud of who I am and how the Gospel has helped me become a daughter of God. Today I am reminded of a scripture "Enter into his gates of thanksgiving....be thankful unto him, and bless his name." Psalm 100:4. How thankful I am for the knowledge I have!
