"Look Hoo's One" Birthday Bash

I know I am so late writing about this but we have been busy around here as usual.  As I told you before we celebrated Porter's 1st bday a couple weeks ago with all the other babies turning one. It was an Owl "Look Hoo's One" theme and it turned out so cute. All the Mommies got together and made matching owl hats and shirts for the babies to wear and I have to say that my sewing creative streak came out a little bit. It took a lot of work but it was so well worth it because everything turned out so adorable and it was fun working with all my friends!
I did Porty's shirt with a cute brown owl on the front with a green button and a great big ONE on the back with a blue button.  I loved the way it looked and hopefully someday Porter can appreciated it..LOL!
We all came with different ideas and I thought the cupcakes turned out awesome.  Melesa Stewart aka Betty Crocker did an amazing job on them. We had 3 different sets. One brown owl made with life savers, chocolate chips, almonds slivers, and cashews. Another made with oreos and mm's and the last one just had a cute owl on it with sprinkles.  I also must add that they were all DELICIOUS!!
Melesa also made a big low sugar carrot cake for the little ones to go at it later.  This one also turned out wonderful!
I was in charge of the sandwiches and I just did BBQ pulled chicken. I put 2 pineapples on top then covered it with a slice of cheese and then put them in to the broiler for a couple minuets.  They turned out good and they really looked like little owls! We also had little snacks like owl crackers and owl smores. Everything was all so yummy!
The decorations were perfect with our little owl pine cones we made and the leaves that I gathered from my front yard.  We also brought twigs, pumpkins, and vases which made for cute center pieces.  Oh yes and we can't forget about balloons too! YAY!
Jamie Hall made the neatest sign to put up that said, "Look Hoo's One" in all the fall colors.  We each brought a 8x10 photo of our child turning one and hung it below.
Here were the babies born in 2009 and who all the celebration was about...
Brooklyn Nelson October 29
Porter Price November 11
Alex Hall November 12
Kalei Stewart November 17
Ashlyn Frogley November 24
Can you believe all these babies turned one with in weeks of each other? Its fun that all of our babies are the same age and it made for a fun party as well!
We had a fun game called "Guess Hoo" made by Tiffany Frogley and a bean bag toss shaped like an owl that Karla Nelson made.
Tiff did a great job with the game. Each owl had something specific about the baby on top of it and the answer was underneath the owl. Porters were.. points with middle finger and favorite food is bananas. We had other ones like HOO was overdue, early, and other fun facts about the babies.
The Birthday Boy was not his normal happy self.  He was getting over a sickness, cutting teeth, and tired. For this reason I did not but get a couple of grins out of him  Oh well he still looked cut in his owl outfit!
He is our big 1 year old now!
 We love him so much!
We had fun taking pictures with the owl cut out that Melesa made. It had 3 little owls... 2 for the parents and one little one for the child.  Talk about PRECIOUS!
Taking pictures of 5 babies all together was a different story though! We attempted to get a good one but either someone was looking away, crying, screaming, or trying to take their hat off...LOL! We tried!
We got one pretty good one but still...
Kalei is screaming with excitement
Brooklyn is getting her hat fixed by her mom
Alex is making pretty angry face
Porter looks like he has about had it with pictures
and Ashlyn is being entertained by a cell phone...
LOL, gotta love these one year olds!
There were only 2 boys out of the gang, Alex and Porter! They were only born one day apart, how cool is that? Cute Cute little owl boys!
After all the picture taking it came time to sing "happy birthday" and for the babies to stuff themselves with cake. I had an idea to bring my mini pool to stick all the babies in it and let them dig in the cake.  It worked perfect. Now as far as the smashing cake everywhere, Porter was not too thrilled about the whole thing. I should have known because even though he likes to make a mess when he eats he does not like gunk on his hands. He also has not really had anything like cake before so I am not sure he knew what to think of it. Most of his crying though probably just had to do with being over tired.  Poor guy!  All I wanted him to do was be happy and smash cake all over his face but Porter had different plans..LOL!
The Rock Star of the cake eating went to Miss Kalei! She could not get enough of the stuff! You go girl!
You are probably wondering what Trey was up too during all this fun partying...well he was having a grand ole time licking the frosting off of lots of cupcakes....LOL! Trey has always been a frosting type a guy;)
After all this FUN we had one tired sleepy little 1 year old. The minuet I put him in his car seat he zonked out. He was all partied out! The party was a "HOOT!" Thanks to everyone that helped put it together!
The next day we wanted to try again to see if Porter would at least enjoy a cupcake....DIDN'T HAPPEN!! He touched it once and made a yucky face.  We tried to coax him and coax him but he just did not want anything to do with it. Oh well, I guess I am grateful for his own uniqueness and not liking sugar that much...LOL!
Maybe on his next bday he will like cake more...cross your fingers...we will see! LOL
Happy First Year Porter-kins!!

Our Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving was a good one this year.  We went the the Thompson's for the big feast.  We love them so much.  Every year they invite all the Palmer families and they do this because they want their home to to be our home away from home.  I was missing both of our families this year but it so nice to have a "family" and somewhere to go while living out here. They are just such great people and I especially love Sister Thompson because she is small like me.  I think I might even be a couple inches taller which I am rarely every taller then anyone...LOL! They made the big stuff like the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and such.  Everyone else brought side dishes and desserts! There was so much food and it was absolutely delicious!! All of my family stuffed ourselves and I could barely move after eating all that good food! I always think about what I am thankful for...family, Gospel, soldiers, and the list could go on and on but this year especially I am thankful for my Husband and all the hard works he puts into school.  It is such a blessing and I know all his hard work will pay off in the end.
Our boys enjoyed the feast especially Porter.  He could not get enough of the mash potatoes and he got food all down his shirt. Trey was very tired because he woke up really early that morning so all he wanted to do was snuggle with daddy and play with his ears.
After we ate and visited with everyone we headed over to the Pulous's to hang out. We always have fun over at the Pulous's.  My boys love their boys so much. They already had put their Christmas Tree up and it was so beautiful.
The Frogley's came over too and their little Ashlyn is the about the same age as Porter.  They play cute together. We have also decided that we have already arranged their marriage for them...LOL!
After that we went to the Dastrup's house for a light dinner and games. We had turkey sandwiches, salad, and a yummy lime cucumber drink to wash it down. We had a blast and laughed A LOT!
The boys were having so much fun too.  They were getting into the Christmas spirit with Porter trying to play the trumpet and Trey trying on the Christmas hats. Porter was wearing more of his dinner on his shirt and Trey was wearing it on his face...LOL! Leave it to my boys to look messy!
They were both getting super tired though because it had already been a long day already. Trey was still tired from earlier so all he wanted to do was snuggle towards the end of the night.
We soon left to get the kids in bed and we sang Christmas songs all the way home.
Jingle Bells, Rocking around the Christmas Tree, and Santa Clause is coming to town.
I know we are just crazy like that I guess!
Chris says he only like Christmas music after Thanksgiving but before that he does not like it..LOL!
(not sure what face Chris is making in the photo..LOL)
We seriously could not asked for a better Thanksgiving here!
Hope all of you had a wonderful Turkey Day!

Parents of BOYS!

 Being Parents of BOYS.....
You will find freshly ironed (if I have time) white shirts and ties ready for Sunday.
You will find tired sleepy eyes and sometimes even crying faces while getting ready for Church.
You will find wacky hair after bath time and hear roars of playing pretend all through the house.
You will see smiles from ear to ear and will also hear giggles beyond end.
You will find Trey playing with my hair.
You will find Porter curling his toes while playing and clapping his hands for no apparent reason.
You will see lots of snuggles, cheek to cheek hugs, and Eskimo kisses.
You might find Trey's many faces funny too...
The oooo face
The pout face
  The smirk
and his signature of playing with his hair right when the pacifier goes in because he is tired!
You will find the boys wearing lots of Binnie's or hats because its getting cold outside.
You might even find them wearing MC HAMMER jump suits that Nanny sent because we still need to go shopping for winter clothes..LOL!
You will see that even a box can entertain our boys for hours.
You will find Trey making laps around the house, jumping off the end of couches, and saying, "YAY I did it!"
You will find Porter just watching Jax eat every last bite of his food.  He used to get into the dog food but now I think he knows better.  Talk about self discipline.
You will find Treyson running from room to room climbing over things with non stop laughter.
You will find Porter loving to play in the car and be out of his car seat whenever he can.
You will see that Porter likes to make a big mess when he eats of course.
You will see Treyson just being his crazy BOY self!
You will sometimes find  the BOYS holding each other hands. Talk about a tender Mother moment right there!
You will see that I like to dress my boys in shirts that say, "My mom rocks" because sometimes I think I do...LOL!
You will find Porter likes to play chase and when he looses his balance finds the closest thing in front of him to get it back.  SO FUN!
You will just see PURE ADORABLENESS!
You will find random objects being played with especially kitchen tools.
Or you might even find a toy being played with in a completely different way then its meant for.
You will find Trey loves rocks of any kind and always has to find the "magic" one when we go places.
You will find Porter loves to explore everything all the way to the front door window to the small Dino's in his toys box.
Oh yes and you can not forget about Porter finger either!  You will find him pointing or giving you the bird...however you take it I guess..LOL!
Last but not least you will always find my boys wrestling in some form or another.
These are just a few "findings" you will experience with our little turds.
This is the life of parenting BOYS!!!!!!

This is just a little glimpse of our BOYS in action....
