Time for our baby story.....
I was scheduled for an induction on Wednesday the eleventh at 7am. I could not sleep the whole night because I was so anxious and not to mention very uncomfortable. Chris and I woke up around 6, had breakfast, family prayer with Treyson, and then we took Treyson over to the Pulous's so they could watch him. It was bitter sweet because I knew I would not see him for 2 full days because with the swine flu no one under 18 can come in labor and delivery nor could I got out into the waiting room to see him. We tried to explain to him what was going on the best we could and just hoped and prayed that he would do well with out his mommy. I was really excited yet nervous when going to the hospital, I kept thinking...."I am really going to have a baby today!" CRAZY! It took us a little bit to find where we were supposed to go but we finally did and they admitted me to labor and delivery. The nurses came in and asked me a whole slew of questions and got my IV going and hooked me up to the dreadful pitocin! I hate pitocin, it makes labor so much harder! Chris gave me a sweet blessing while the pit-drip was kicking in. So, I was dilated to a 3 and used the birthing ball a lot and I progressively made progress. They broke my water shortly after that, WOW it was like a flash flood when they did because of all the fluid I had. I was finally to a 5 and felt the contractions pretty strong so I decided to get into the jet tub to see if it would help. I loved it in there but they were having trouble monitoring the baby so I had to get out. I knew if I got out that I would have to get the epidural because the contractions were just too strong outside of the tub. I could of totally done with out it if I could of stayed in! Anyways I had to wait a little bit for my epidural and by this time I was exhausted with trying to breath through all the strong contractions. I was dilated to a 7 and was a little worried about getting it so late. I told them I wanted to monitor my own drip and they said they don't do that at this hospital so I became worried about being to numb when it came time to push. Chris told me not to worry and to get some rest so when it came time I was ready. I took about a 2 hour nap and they came in and told me I was to a 9. I was really numb and I told them I wanted them to turn the epidural off because I wanted to feel where to push and they told me that they would not turn it off quite yet. 30 minuets later I was to a 10 and they asked me if I was ready to push and I said. "As ready as I can be." I was seriously so numb and could not feel a thing. You see with Trey they let me control how much epidural I was getting so when I pushed with him I could feel what was going on, with Porter nothing! It was really frustrating and I finally demanded that they turn it off about 45 minuets into pushing and they said OK. I was so fatigued and I even threw up because I was pushing so hard. Chris was a great coach and helped me get through each push even though he knew that it was not really getting us anywhere fast. The epidural finally died down and I started pushing correctly. Another 45 minuets went by and he started crowning. They told me to give one more big push and I did but his shoulder got stuck and they told me that I needed to push harder. I pushed as hard as I could and finally there he was! They laid him on top of me but I could not see him too well and Chris's face looked really scared. I asked him what was wrong and he did not answer. I guess when he got stuck he lost a lot of oxygen and was not breathing right when he came out. We finally heard a big cry and were relieved! He was finally here, our baby boy safely here! They weighed him and took his height and I was so shocked when they told me that he was 8 1/2 pounds...WOW! For me that is a dang good size baby. The doc told me I probably could not go more than that but that I should be proud of myself for enduring all I did today. I was proud of my self too and just happy to be done with everything and have our little man here. When I held him for the first time I was just so overcome with JOY. Words cannot express the way I felt at that moment. Chris was sure a proud Daddy too and when I looked at him I fell in love with him more too. The doc and nurse even commented on how much in love they could tell we are! I seriously love my little family they are my greatest blessing.
PS. A big thanks to the Pulous's and the Castillon's for helping out with Trey.

your a champ for trying to do it without the epidural. I can't believe he is here, that is so exciting. How is it with two kids?
Congrats!!! Sounds like a rough birth. Porter looks so much like Trey. I'm glad things turned out ok.
He is beautiful Kerri! I love all his hair! And you look great too! I looked horrible after I had Brax. Seriously. So are you adjusting to having 2 kids? Are you guys coming back to Utah for Christmas?
Congrats again! He's so cute! How's Trey doing with the baby? I can't believe how blonde Trey is now, I remember him being a lot darker. We're good, Parker and I are both working (me from home, yay!). Life is good.
