Growing UP {Treyson}

Yes, our T-man is growing up so fast.
This last year in school was quite a change for him. In Iowa he went to preschool everyday for a half day. He loved it. Before we left he got to present to me his very own power point on what he like so much about his Iowa preschool. This was only a couple weeks before we moved and he did such a great job. 

Fast forward that crazy month of us moving here. We finally got him in another preschool which was just a home taught one that someone did in our ward. We got lucky because she did have 1 spot open. He was so excited on the first day of his new preschool. 

It was a big change because he went from going every since day to only going 2 times a week for a half day. He did pretty good with the transition. 

We put him in t-ball to have something to do on the day she did not have preschool. We got lucky here too becase a girl in my ward son could not do it anymore so Treyson got to take his spot. 

He seriously loved it and it was so fun to watch him! 

He was really awesome once he figured out how to play!

Oh yes and of course Port was too young to play but pretended at home he was just like Treyson;) 

Fast forward a month and I signed him up for kindergarten. I not going to get into details now about public, charter, and private school and how I feel about them. We doing public school for now but that may change. I hate the new Common Core stuff they are implementing in public school but for now its our option and Trey was pretty stoked the day we signed up. 

People usually say, No Shots = NO School. This is untrue especially for Idaho. They allow all 3 exemption here in this state which make it way easier on my part.

Fast forward to the end of the preschool year--
Mrs. Wilks put on the cutest program for the students graduating from preschool.

I love his teacher and he made some really great friends. 

He seriously was the class clown the whole night at grad and jumping for joy because he was so excited.

Treyson is quite the character and latley he has been obsessed with spoons. He would rather play with them then other toys. He tells us they are somehting different everyday....magic sword, long battleships, weapon launchers, ect. His imagination has always been awesome. When all my spoon are missing I know where to look:) 

He was pretty bummed too when I told him he could not take his spoons to school...LOL!

Trey and I took walks together this summer, just me an him while the others were sleeping. It's was a great way to keep our attachment. Sometime I feel like I dont much time with him because I am taking care of the others, so I try and make a little one on one time so we can talk, laugh, you know Mommy Son stuff. 

It's such a joy to be Treyson's MOM! He bring so much laughter and happiness into our family! I love catching him playing pretend and watching him play or when he just stops me for no reason and says, "Mom, I love you!" I remember when Treyson was a little newborn and looking at him and saying, "I can't imagine you as a big kid, teenager, ect. Yet, it unraveling right before my eyes and it's amazing to watch. It's a pretty special thing to watch your children grown and learn. I love this age. He is almost 6 and we have the best conversations. He tells jokes often that involve a fart noises, he tells me his feelings, ect. I just love it. Trey hold a tender place in my heart, after all he is the one who gave me the ultimate gift of motherhood, he made me a MOMMY! He was my first baby, my first son, my first everything. We call him our Guinea pig child because he had to forgive us over and over again as we made MANY mistakes learning as first time parents. We are still learning and it's an on going process--but what an awesome thing to be apart of. We are so blessed to have this little man in our family. We  just love you so much that sometimes my heart just wants to burst and I wonder how I got so lucky to have a son like you!

Ok lets fast forward to yesterday---

This moment when my first born went off to school and wondered how time flies so fast. 

The may faces to Treyson on his first day of Kindergarten. What I have a kindergartener? That is just crazy to say! 

Treyson has always been one of sleep in always, even if he goes to bed early but since school started he even gets up before his alarm and he just ready to go. He sometimes is a little grumpy but we snuggle through it really fast. Transformer backpack and ninja turtle lunch box--he's set. I could send him for free breakfast every morning but choosing not to. Its very unhealthy food and I like our bonding time in the morning especially if my other man cubs are still snoozing.

And this picture, oh I just love it. It's sums up Treyson personality perfectly!

5k COLOR RUN 2013

We did it, our first ever Color Run 5k!

I month ago I talked Miho into running this with me. This has been on my bucket list for years and now I finally live close enough to one. Im not a runner, mainly because it too much of the same thing all the time. Miho does not like running either so she was very hesitant to say yes. I coaxed her into just trying it and we really had such a BLAST! Once we got there she realized it was not as serious as a race as we thought. It's a pretty low key go at your own pace-have fun kind of run. Since our husbands see each other all the time and work side by side it was nice to hang out with her for the day and do this run together.

We did it! We were covered in so much color we were seriously peeing rainbows after...LOL! They have a huge color fest after with live music and dancing. Lots of noise, fun and COLOR! See Miho's fanny pack? We won this right before we started the race! Awesome because we needed something to put our stuff in! 

It really is the Happiest 5k on the Planet! 

So glad I finally got to do something for me and mark something off my bucket list! Most definitely will do it again! PS. Love the blue armpit stain...LOL! 

Want to do a Color Run? Since this was my first time here our my DO's and DONT's List. 

DON'T take the race so serious! This race is about fun. There were all people doing this race. Young, old, avid runners, non runners, in shape, not so in shape, ect. They even had full families doing the race together. I saw as young as a 3 month old baby being pushed by her MOM. Its a very low key fun family event! 

DON'T expect to run the whole time. When you get to the color stations things slow down and you usually are waiting to go through. Some people walk through so they can get more color and you are waiting. So just go with the flow and your will be good. 

DON'T breath in when you run through the color. Even though the color is only dyed cornstarch. Still-- It can cause irritation. If your not wearing eye-ware be sure to close your eyes when you go through as well. 

DON'T be afraid to get dirty. This color washes out pretty well. I took a pretty good shower scrubbing on the really color areas and washing my close and shoes twice. Some people say that their things got stained but in my experience everything came clean. 

DON'T worry about bringing water or snacks. They have them for you after the race. 

DON'T use your color packet until the very end. You have plenty of chances to get colorful. If you use it before or during the race then you wont have a packet for the after party. 

DON'T forget to head the cleaning station when you leave. They have a people with air blowers to blow some of the color off so your not so saturated. 

DO eat something before you go. I had a protein smoothie. You are going to have to get up super early, get ready and be there early, then run and then the after party. You want to have a full tummy because you wont eat for a while (only little snacks). 

DO run with someone or a group! This is definitely a fun awesome run dominated by costumed teams, groups of friends, and families (we saw all sorts of things). Adding to the social feel of the Color Run, the finish-line celebrations consist of a huge dance party and a gathering people, vendors, ect. The Color Run is a party element and is not a timed race so it's better celebrating this event with friends.

DO wear as much white as possible. We wore the white color run t-shirt, but stuck to our trusty black shorts. Even though the after effect was cool, it would have been that much better if we had worn more white. The more white the more colorful you are and that is really the point of the race. 

DO get excited! Do not sign up for a fun run like this if you are not in the mood to deal with people, loud music, strangers throwing things at you, crowds, more loud music, dancing, or general shenanigans. Just don’t. This is a FUN event, you’ll find people running around greeting friends, see people dressed up in all sorts of crazy colors/outfits/things, and maybe even find yourself dancing at the finish line. Get into the mood, step into character, get PUMPED!

DO take before and after pictures. Why because they are a MUST! They are fun to look at and see how much color you got. It really is like a crayon box exploded all over you! Its awesome! 

DO protect your stuff/belongings. If your carrying your stuff or take things (especially camera and phones). A small fanny or backpack will do. Some people say they just run with their stuff in their pockets but I would not do that. Put stuff in ziplock baggies and then your fanny/backpack. I would not bring a really nice camera unless you have someone that is designated to take pictures that is going to be around the color arena (I saw many people do this). Lots of people brought their whole family down to hang out while they ran, took awesome pics, ect. 

DO be early as possible. With more than 10 thousand entrants, it counts to be early when it comes to the this popular run. Registration fees increase as the day of the event draws near so make sure to sign up early (It's around 45 bucks unless you find a groupon/special deal.). The week of the run, pick up your packet in advance; otherwise, expect to be waiting in a long line when you arrive the day of the run. Plus then you have to changed, put your number on, ect. It better to have it all before the race. For those who are hoping to set a new goal, show up a few hours before the start in order to position yourself in the lead pack. If not, you'll be stuck behind thousands of people you'll later have to maneuver around once you make it past the starting line.

DO go to the bathroom before the race. They have several porta-potty around the area where you can go and even some during the race but just get it done so you can enjoy your color run.

Things to bring:
Towels (to sit on for the dive home)
Babywipes/Tissue (so you can wipe things down that get color on them or blow your nose/wipe your eyes, ect.)
Money (They have a color run stand where you can buy all sorts of cute stuff/souviners

I think that is it! 

Seriously do a COLOR RUN! You won't be disappointed!
